East Lothian Libraries talking online safety

TechTalk: Learning together about digital wellbeing with East Lothian Libraries

Our Library Services, in partnership with East Lothian Connected Communities, is inviting a selected group interested in digital safety to ‘TechTalk’ – a free, eight-week project for young people and their parents or carers, exploring our online worlds together.

The programme is open to Musselburgh and Wallyford area young people, ages 9-12, and an important grown up in their lives, and will be after school at Musselburgh or Wallyford Library.

Participants will be learning from each other about their own experiences and the stories they’ve heard to share views, learn with other local families and help make a creative guide for other families in East Lothian and Scotland.

Snacks are provided and travel reimbursed, and those taking part will receive a voucher as a ‘thank you’ for their involvement.

Anyone interested can find out more by visiting our website and filling in the expression of interest form by Friday 6 February. A member of our team will be in touch to invite them to an information session. They can also contact Carolyn Dineen, our Senior Librarian – Schools and Young People’s Services, or Emma Laverie, Youth Development Officer via the contact details on our Library Services page.

TechTalk is funded by The European Cultural Foundation, supported by the Scottish Libraries and Information Council (SLIC), as part of The Europe Challenge. The Europe Challenge brings together libraries and communities to address social, digital, and environmental challenges faced across Europe.
