Heritage Connections Day 2nd May will be fun for all the family!

Prestonpans, Cockenzie and Port Seton are hosting Heritage Connections Day on Saturday 2 May. 

There's a Retro, Collectibles and Flea Market 9am to 3pm at Cockenzie House and Gardens with more than 35 stalls of pre-loved crockery, china, clothes, bric-a-brac, garden ornaments and jewellery. This is on the first Saturday of every month. You can also buy plants and visit the cafe while you're there. 

At Cockenzie Auld Kirk, there's a Food Market from 11am to 3pm. Discover the freshest flavours of the season with locally grown produce, freshly baked bread, unique handmade goods from local vendors and the best of East Lothian food. This is event is also on the first Saturday of every month.


You can also visit the Book Sale from 9.30am - 4pm at the Waggonway Museum in Cockenzie. There are loads of second-hand books of all genres as well as home baking, teas and coffees. All proceeds will go
towards local heritage work to celebrate the history of Scotland's first railway.

See Salt Making at Cockenzie House & Gardens! The 1722 Waggonway Project salters will be making salt in the traditional 18th century method at Cockenzie House and Gardens during the day on Saturday 2 May so have a look when you're attending the other great events. 

From 10.30am to 4pm there is an opportunity to see inside the medieval Preston Tower and Doocot hosted by local volunteers from Friends of Preston Tower and joined by the wonderful re-enactors from Catching The Past. Space is limited in the upstairs Great Hall, so booking FREE TICKETS is recommended to avoid disappointment. PLEASE NOTE: The LEGO event at Prestongrange Museum is now fully booked. LEGO fans will be joining LEGO master builder Alistair Jelks to help build a scale model of Prestongrange's famous beam engine, which will later be on display at the museum.
